My print work, whether letterpress, screenprinting, etching or book-making, explores the fight inherent in appropriated imagery: the transformation of familiar letters, words, and language (books) into new contexts. The visual content, whether reappropriated or not, is used in the same way.
These broadsides, printed on either a Vandercook SP15 or a Vandercook No. 4, aim to recontextualize familiar shapes (letters and logos), stripping them of their intended use. The broadsides with "poems" aim to transform, in a similar way, our traditional understanding of the written language.
